When to login e-Filing Home Page, Income Tax Login?
We have to log in e-Filing Portal when we have total income above the exempt limit shown above and will have to file an Income tax return online or offline so we have to log in e-Filing Portal.
What are the Steps to log in e-Filing Home Page?

First of all search on google How to login e-filing home page or Income Tax Department or visit the Income-tax site-https://www.incometax.gov.in/
Then click on the first link or above link
You will be on the e-Filling Home page and click Login.
Now you can log in with your registered user id which is your PAN No and with a created password.
And If you are not registered then you will have to register yourself first by using your PAN No, NAME, or DOB.
After having a user id or password you can log in to the e-filing portal.
On the portal, there are so many facilities available for users that need to know.
Portal login will show all available detail.
Now you are on your login portal check your profile or update if showing less detail.
Check all menu options and know them perfectly.
If you want to file an income tax return then go to menu>efile>Income tax return>
Then select Assessment year, ITR form no, filing type, and submission mode
Finally, fill in your income details after understanding all points and check if tax is payable or not if yes then pay if not liable to pay then ok do not pay, and file your income tax return according to taxpayer type.
Is any two-factor authentication required for login e-fling Portal?
The new e-filing portal mandates two-factor authentication means in addition to username and password, another authentication through OTP on e-filing registered primary mobile number/email ID or Aadhaar linked mobile needs to be entered. In order to avoid any hassle for taxpayers, who may not have access to such mobile numbers/email, the two-factor authentication will be disabled during the initial period. During this period, taxpayers are requested to update their personal mobile number and email ID as the primary mobile/email in their profile to ensure smooth login once two-factor authentication is enabled.

How to Log in using OTP on a registered Mobile Number/email ID?
These are the steps to Log in using OTP on a registered Mobile Number/Email ID
First of all, go to the e-Filing Portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your PAN in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
Now Confirm your Secure Access Message. Enter your Password and click Continue.
Then select the option to receive the 6-digit OTP on the primary mobile number through voice call or Text Message. Click Continue.
Now enter the 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number or email ID registered on the e-Filing portal and click Login.
Note:
OTP will be valid for 15 minutes only.
You will have 3 attempts to enter the correct OTP.
The OTP expiry countdown timer on the screen tells you when the OTP will expire.
On clicking Resend OTP a new OTP will be generated.
On successful validation, the e-Filing Dashboard is displayed.
How to Log in using Aadhaar (including the case where the e-Filing Vault Option is enabled)?

First of all, go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your PAN in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
Now select OTP on mobile registered with Aadhaar after confirming your Secure Access Message and click Continue. In case of using Aadhaar OTP as a higher security option, log in with your user ID and password, and on the Higher Security Options page, click OTP on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar > Continue.
If you already have OTP, select I already have OTP on your mobile number registered with Aadhaar and If valid OTP is not available, click Generate OTP.
On the Verify, it’s your page, click I Agree to validate my Aadhaar Details > Generate Aadhaar OTP.
Enter your 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number registered with Aadhaar and click Login.

How to Log in using Aadhaar (Only for Individual Taxpayers)?
Steps to log in using Aadhar only for individual taxpayers-
First of all, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your Aadhaar in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
Now select OTP on mobile registered with Aadhaar after confirming your Secure Access Message and click Continue. In case of using Aadhaar OTP as a higher security option, log in with your user ID and password, and on the Higher Security Options page, click OTP on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar > Continue.
If you already have OTP, select I already have OTP on your mobile number registered with Aadhaar and If valid OTP is not available, click Generate OTP.

How to Log in using Net Banking (including the case where the e-Filing vault option is enabled)?
Steps to log in e-filing home page by using Net Banking
First of all, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login. In case of using Net Banking as a higher security option, enter your user ID, and password and click Through Net Banking on the Higher Security Options page and go to the next step.
If you have not opted for the e-Filing Vault Higher Security option, click the Net Banking option found at the bottom of the page under Other Ways to Access Your Account.
Then choose the preferred bank and click on Continue.
Also, read and understand the disclaimer. Click Continue.
Log in to your Net Banking account using your Net Banking user ID and password.
Post login, select the link to the e-Filing portal on the bank’s website. You will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in using Static Password?
Steps to login e-filing home page using static password-
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your PAN in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
And Confirm your Secure Access Message. Enter your Password and click Continue.
Then Click Try Another Method.
Here select Static Password and click Continue.
Then enter Static Password and click Login.

How to Log in using Bank Account / Demat Account EVC (when the e-Filing Vault Higher Security option is enabled)?
Steps to login e-filing home page using Bank Account/ Demat Account EVC-
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your PAN in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
Now confirm your Secure Access Message. Enter your Password and click Continue.
Then Select Bank Account EVC / Demat Account EVC and click Continue.
Login using the EVC page is displayed. Click I already have an EVC.
Note: If you do not have an EVC, click Generate EVC. You will receive the EVC on your mobile number registered with your bank / Demat account.
Enter the EVC and click Login.
Post successful validation, you will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in using DSC (when the e-Filing Vault Higher Security option is enabled)?
Steps to login e-filing home page using DSC-
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then enter your PAN in the Enter your User ID textbox and click Continue.
Then Confirm your Secure Access Message. Enter your Password and click Continue.
Select the DSC Option and click on Continue.
Select New DSC or Registered DSC (as required) and click Continue. Refer to the Register DSC user manual to learn more.
Then Select I have downloaded and installed Emsigner utility and click Continue.
Note: You can download and install the utility, using the hyperlink at the bottom of the page.
On the Data Sign page, choose the Provider and Certificate. Enter the Provider Password and click Sign.
Post successful validation, you will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in using ITD Mobile App (Scan QR Core)?
Steps to login e-filing home page using ITD Mobile App-Scan QR Core
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
then click Mobile App under Other ways to access your account.
The Login with Mobile App page displays the field to scan QR codes.
Then open the installed ITD Mobile App on your phone. Login and press the Scan icon.
On successful scanning of the QR code, you will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in using ITD Mobile App (Push Notification)?
Steps to login e-filing home page using ITD Mobile App-Push Notification
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then click Mobile App under Other ways to access your account.
Then click Try another way to log in.
Now select Push Notification on mobile and click Continue.
You will be taken to the Login using the push notification page. Enter your user ID (PAN) and click Continue.
On successful validation, a number is displayed and the system sends a prompt / notification on the ITD Mobile App.
Then click on the same number in the Notification received on the ITD Mobile App.
Post successful validation, you will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in e-filing home page using ITD Mobile App (Time Based – OTP)?
Steps to login e-filing home page using ITD Mobile App- Time Based OTP
Firstly, Go to the e-Filing portal homepage and click Login.
Then click Mobile App under Other ways to access your account.
Then click Try another way to log in.
Now select Time Based – One Time Password (t-OTP).
You will be taken to the Login using the time-based – one-time password page. Open the ITD Mobile App, log in and click on Code Generator. A code with 30-second validity is displayed.
Then enter the code on your system and click Continue.
Post successful validation, you will be taken to the e-Filing Dashboard.
How to Log in using OTP on a registered mobile number and email ID?

Select the option to receive the 6-digit OTP on the primary mobile number through voice call or Text Message. Click Continue.
Enter the 6-digit OTP received on your mobile number or email ID registered on the e-Filing portal and click Login.
Note:
OTP will be valid for 15 minutes only. You will have 3 attempts to enter the correct OTP. The OTP expiry countdown timer on the screen tells you when the OTP will expire. On clicking Resend OTP a new OTP will be generated. On successful validation, the e-Filing Dashboard is displayed.

Now select the DSC Option and click on Continue.
Then Select New DSC or Registered DSC (as required) and click Continue. Refer to the Register DSC user manual to learn more.
Then Select I have downloaded and installed em-signer utility and click Continue.
