What is the age limit for Delhi EWS/DG admission?

The eligible age limits for admission in the entry-level classes (Pre-school/ Nursery, Preprimary/KG, and Class-I)

1- Registration Process for Registration No and Password

  • First of all, you need to visit the Directorate of Educations official website that is Edudel.nic.in or a direct link that is Edustud.nic.in or moreover you can search in google with the keyword of Edudel or Delhi EWS/DG admission 2022-23.
  • After reaching the official govt site just click on the menu EWS/DG Admissions and EWS/Freeship Admissions on site
  • Then, you have to register your self for filing admission form
  • So, Register first through the link
    • Registration for New User (Nursery/Pre-School to Class-1)
    • नए आवेदनकर्ता के लिए पंजीकरण (नर्सरी / प्री-स्कूल से कक्षा -1 तक)
  • After that, a form will display just need to fill in required details such as
    1. Select class for which you want to apply
    2. Name of the child- first, middle and last name
    3. Mobile No
    4. An email address if having
    5. Gender
    6. Date of Birth
    7. Select Proof of Date of Birth
    8. Enter Total annual income (should be less than 1 lac)
    9. Select category under which you are applying as EWS or DG
    10. Select proof of income on the basis of category EWS or DG
    11. Then select annual income proof certificate issued or applied
    12. Then issued certificate No and date of the issued certificate No
  • Now after entering all required details just click on Register Button
  • After clicking on the Register button, you will see a popup window that will tell you –you can not edit the information after registration, so you are requested to check details before registration.
  • Then after registration, you will see your Registration No and logging password on-screen and a message also sent on your Mobile No.

2. Filling the admission form for Schools with six easy steps

  • Now you have your Registration ID and password for logging so just log in on the same official site through the link shown bellow
    • Login If Already Registered

  • Now go through the all steps from 1 to 6
  • Step-1 Details of the applicant
    1. Here you will see a form that included all information provided at the time of registration and need to provide further information
    2. Provide details of Parents
    3. then enter a residential address and select proof of address
    4. After filling in all details just click on the preview button
    5. And check all details before submitting
    6. And if all details correct then click on submit button or if not correct then correct by clicking the back button because, after submission, you will not be able to edit it.
  • Step-2 Choice of Schools (0-1 km)
    1. Here you will be able to see schools nearest to your address in the range of (0-1 km)
    2. Just add or delete according to your choice of school
    3. And then click on submit button for the next step
  • Step-3 Choice of Schools (1-3 km)
    1. Here you will be able to see schools nearest to your address in the range of (1-3 km)

What is the eligibility for Delhi EWS/DG admission online?

Applicants who have the following eligibility criteria may apply for online admission on the official website Edudel under the initiative of the Doctorate of Education, Government of Delhi

  • Should be under the range of age prescribed of the applicant for
    1. Nursery or Pre-School is 3 to 5 years,
    2. KG or Pre-Primary is 4 to 6 years
    3. And Class I is 5 to 7 years as of March 31, 2021
  • Family income should not more than 1 Lakh rupees per year from all sources of income.
  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi.

  • After reaching the official govt site just click on the link  For Deletion of Registration/Application Form पंजीकरण / आवेदन प्रपत्र के विलोपन के लिए on site
  • After clicking on the link, you will see 2 steps to delete the application form or registration.
    • Request for Deletion
    • Delete data EWS/DG Admission
  • For Request for Deletion
    1. You will have to enter some information such as
    2. Registration No
    3. Class and Registered mobile no
    4. Aadhar No of student
    5. And after entering details just need to click on submit button
    6. Then your request will be submitted successfully and you will receive an OTP within 24 hours for deletion of data.
  • Delete data EWS/DG Admission
    1. Now you can delete your application date if you have received OTP on your registered mobile no
    2. For deletion of date, Just click on the link Delete data EWS/DG Admission
    3. then enter Registration No and Received OTP and click on the Delete button
    4. And your application data will be deleted
    5. After deletion of the date, you can apply for afresh registration again.

7. In which class EWS/DG Admissions can be sought online?

This online module has been designed only for admission under the EWS/DG category in any of the Entry Level Classes that is

  • Nursery/Pre-School,
  • KG/Pre-primary
  • and Class-I.

8. What percentage of seats under the EWS/DG category is available in a school?

At least 25% of total seats are at the entry-level class of a school.

9. Who comes under EWS (Economically Weaker Section) category?

A Child whose parent’s annual family income from all sources is less than one lakh rupees.

10. Who comes under the DG (Disadvantaged Group) category?

A child belonging to –

  1. Scheduled Caste
  2. Scheduled Tribe
  3. OBC (Non-Creamy layer)
  4. A child with special needs suffering from a disability, as defined in ‘Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995’.
  5. Orphans as defined in Juvenile Justice Act
  6. Transgender
  7. Children living with or affected by HIV

(There is no need to submit any income certificate for these categories as no income limit is prescribed for them.)

11. What are the documents required for EWS/DG category?

For EWS:-

  1. Income- Certificate issued by a Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar
  2. BPL/AAY/ Food Security Card issued by Food and Civil Supply Department, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

For DG:-

  1. SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) certificate issued by Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar of Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
  2. Children with Special Needs/Disabled: – Certificate issued by Govt. Hospital
  3. Orphan and Transgender: – Documentary evidence.
  4. Children living with or affected by HIV.

12. If I have BPL/AAY/Food Security Card, then is it necessary to have an income certificate to apply under the EWS category?

No. Only one of these documents is required.

13. I have a BPL card but the name of the child is not mentioned. Can I apply under the EWS category?

Yes.

14. I have Food Security Card but it does not have any date of issue. How can I proceed online?

Filling the date of issue is mandatory in the case of a Food Security Card. You can not proceed without filling it.

15. I have the caste certificate but my child does not have the same. Can I apply for admission under the DG category?

Yes, you can apply on the basis of your caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC- Non-Creamy, whichever applicable) provided that it has been issued by the Revenue Department (DC/DM office), GNCT of Delhi.

16. My caste certificate has been issued by another State. Will it be valid for admission to my ward under the DG category?

No. The caste certificate has to be issued by the Revenue Department (DC/DM office), GNCT of Delhi.

17. If the validity of my Income certificate has expired, then how can I apply?

The validity of your Income certificate is mentioned on the certificate itself. If it has expired, then you can apply afresh to Revenue Department for the issue of a new Income certificate and then use the ”Applied For” option in the Online application and then apply using the receipt/application number of the Income certificate.

18. My income/caste certificate has not been issued yet. It is still under process. Then how can I apply?

Use the” Applied For” option in the online application and then apply using the receipt/application number of the Income/Caste certificate.

19. I do not have any proof of the Date of Birth of my child. How can I apply?

A written declaration/undertaking from parents about the date of birth is treated as valid proof of the date of birth of the child.

20. In my Income certificate, my income has been wrongly mentioned as slightly greater than Rs. 1 lakh. In the birth certificate, some of the details of my child have been wrongly mentioned. How can I apply?

You must contact the competent authorities for necessary corrections in your documents before filling out the online application.

21. What are the documents that can be considered as proof of address?

  1. Ration card issued in the name of Parents having the name of the child in Ration Card.
  2. Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents.
  3. Voter I-Card (EPIC) of any of the parents.
  4. Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill
  5. Unique Identity Card (Aadhaar) of mother/father/child issued by Govt. of India.
  6. Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.
  7. Rent Agreement is not a valid proof of address.

22. What are the documents that can be considered as proof of Birth?

  1. Birth certificate under the Birth, Death, and Marriage Certificate Act, 1969.
  2. Hospital/Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) register record.
  3. Anganwadi Record.
  4. Declaration of the age of the child by the parents or guardian.

23. Is an income certificate necessary for DG Category?

No, an income certificate is not required for DG Category.

24. What is the age criteria for EWS/DG admission in Entry Level Classes?

  1. Nursery/Pre:- school-age 3-5 years as of 31/03/2021
  2. KG/Pre-Primary:- age 4-6 years as on 31/03/2021
  3. Class-I: – age 5-7 years as on 31/03/2021

25. Whether a candidate of the EWS/DG category can also apply under General/Open seats?

Yes. can apply

26. If I qualify for both EWS and DG categories, then under which category should I apply?

Anyone category of your choice.

27. Will there be a disclosure of seats in different entry-level classes?

Yes, at the time of selecting the schools while applying online, the vacancies are also shown.

28. I have two children/twins. Then what is the procedure of filling the online form?

Please fill out separate online applications for both children.

29. How would I know to which of the schools I have applied? Will I have a choice of schools after Registration?

After registration, the applicant has to fill out the application form. In the application form, the applicant has to select & give priority to the schools in different distance ranges. Once the complete form is filled & submitted, the details of all the information including the schools opted by the applicant shall be displayed on the screen. Please take a printout for future reference.

30. How can I find the nearest Private Unaided Recognized Schools from his residence? How many schools can I select?

Using login ID/Registration No. and Password, the Step-I page opens on the screen showing all the details filled in the registration form. One has to fill the residential address and thereafter choose the correct Assembly constituency(Vidhan sabha), Locality/Sub-Locality/Sub-Sub Locality of his residence from the Drop Down list and submit the details to know the nearest schools in different ranges (0-1, 1-3, 3-6, >6 Kms.) in Step-2 to Step-5 button.

If Locality/Sub-Locality/Sub-Sub-Locality where one resides is not available in the drop-down menu, then choose the nearest Locality/Sub-Locality/Sub-Sub-Locality from the drop-down list.

You can select any number of schools shown till 6 Kms but the maximum of 5 schools beyond 6 Kms.

31. Can one change/modify the information after submitting the online application?

Yes. For this purpose, use the link for the deletion of the existing application form provided on the main link ‘EWS/DG Admissions’. then follow the instructions given on the deletion page and after successfully deleting the existing application, fill the form afresh.

Please note here that after deletion, your existing registration number stands invalid for the admission process.

32. What should I do to obtain my registration ID/Password again?

First of all, Go to the Login page of the module EWS/DG Admissions and then click the link “Forgot ID/Password”, and then follow the further instructions.

    As stated above that the DG are not required any income certificate but they are eligible only if have the income below 1 lakh, then is there any procedure to verify the income of the DG candidate. Who had the authority the School or Education department to verify it?
