What are the steps to MAHAGST Login?
The taxpayer will have to register first on mahagst.gov.in for login. Because, a taxpayer for login, should have a user id and password that he will get after registration on mahagst.gov.in. And a taxpayer will have to make a profile on mahagst.gov.in by the following steps which are given below-
How to make a profile on the MAHAGST.GOV.IN website?
There is a simple process to make a profile on mahagst.gov.in
- Registered Dealer if he/she has an active registration certificate under at least one of the acts administered by MSTD can create a temporary profile through “Registered Active Dealer”.
- If a dealer has an active registration certificate under PTEC only and not under any of the other acts administered by MSTD, Please visit “https://mahagst.gov.on” and click on “New Dealer Registration” and
- If your PAN is not allowed there for the creation of a temporary profile, only then go through the below-mentioned process.
- Registered Dealer if he/she has an inactive registration certificate under all acts administered by MSTD can create a temporary profile through “Registered In-Active / Cancelled Dealer”.
- The new user id and password created should be used to log in to the mahagst.gov.in portal only.
- In case of any complaint during the profile creation process, the dealer needs to raise a service request in the following process-
- www.Mahagst.gov.in > May I Help you > Service request. And service requests should have a proper problem description. Please check the details at the end of the document.
How to reset the login password of mahagst.gov.in?
Procedure to reset the “mahagst.gov.in” password
If TIN is issued or Profile is created after 25TH MAY 2016 in SAP System (OR Profile Created after 28th December 2017 at mahagst.gov.in). Then the dealer has to send an email from his registered email id only with the following information to mvatresetp@gmail.com
- TIN: (IF TIN ISSUED)
- PAN
- REGISTERED MOBILE NO
- REGISTERED EMAIL ID
Note–
[If the Dealer does not have access to his registered email id, then he or his representative can submit an application on original letterhead with a rubber stamp, signed by proprietor/partner/director/ authorized signatory (as per MVAT system data) to 1st floor, E-Services Helpdesk, New Building, GST Bhavan, Mazgaon, Mumbai along with following documents –
- Copy of PAN of proprietor/partner/ director / authorized signatory (as per MVAT system data) for signatory proof.
- Copy of PAN of Firm.
- If the representative of the dealer is attending, then the letter of authority in the prescribed format is mandatory.
Other than Mumbai location:- Dealer can submit the above application to their respective Nodal Officer & Then the Nodal Officer, after due verification of mandatory documents, can send the above details to mvatresetp@gmail.com from their Mahavat mail id only.
Procedure to reset the “mahavat.gov.in” password
IF TIN IS ISSUED before 25TH MAY 2016 (OR Dealer enrolled at mahavat.gov.in as per Trade circular 51T of 2017)]
- The dealer has to give the application on original letterhead with a rubber stamp, signed by proprietor/partner/ director / authorized signatory (as per MVAT system data) to the 1st floor, E-Services Helpdesk, New Building, GST Bhavan, Mazgaon, Mumbai along with the following documents –
- Copy of PAN of proprietor/partner/ director / authorized signatory (as per MVAT system data) for signatory proof.
- Copy of PAN of Firm
- If the representative of the dealer is attending, then a “letter of authority” in the prescribed format is mandatory.
Other than Mumbai location-Dealer can submit an application to their respective Nodal Officer & Then Nodal Officer can send mail to mahavatresetp@mahavat.gov.in from their Mahavat mail id only.

Ans.: Click “Log in for VAT e-services” on the left Tile of the Home page of Mahagst Portal and enter your credentials if you are registered on or after 25-05-2016.
- Can I view the MAHAGST website in English?
