These are the simple steps to apply for correction in voter ID online such as name, age, date of birth, gender, and photo, etc. So follow the steps-
- First of all, visit the voter portal of the election commission of India through a search in Google or direct on the voter portal by https://voterportal.eci.gov.in.
- Then register by entering an email ID or Mobile No.
- Verify your email id by received mail or OTP on mobile.
- Then create a password for your account.
- Now after creating a password just log in on Voter Portal and then just click on the link – correction in voter id.
- then click on already have voter id card.
- Then enter your voter id number and click fetch details.
- Now your details will show just check and click on the proceed button.
- Then select the entry which is to be corrected.
- such as name, name of a relative, age, dob, type of a relative, Gender, Address correction, photo, and voter id new format.
- And if more than one correction is required then you can choose up to three requests.
- Then fill in the entry which is required to change.
- Provide and upload your relevant proof of document.
- Just then click on save and continue with checking the declaration
- Then check the preview and if all details are ok then just click on the submit button.
- Now finally, you will receive a reference number for tracking.
How many entries can be corrected in a single form?
You are allowed to make requests for the correction of a maximum of three entries at a time. The correction form has a condition after the selection of the first entry, the other two entries will be displayed that can be selected on the basis of the first entry. You have to follow available conditions-
- You are not allowed to choose corrections for ‘name’ and ‘address’ together.
- And you are not allowed to choose corrections for ‘relative name’ and ‘address’ together.

- Select the option “Correction in Voter ID”
- Then select the entity for which you like to fill the form
- Provide the relevant documents and details accordingly
